Sidmouth Gospel Choir is an inclusive, community choir which is open to anyone of any faith or no faith at all. SGC sing contemporary gospel with an authentic, ‘big’ sound and an infectious, heartwarming feel.

The roots of modern Gospel are in the songs of hope and freedom sung by African slaves in America’s Deep South. Many of these were based on the songs of the Israelites held captive in Egypt thousands of years ago.

Their cry for freedom and message of hope in times of trouble is still relevant today.

The full choir meets every other Monday in St Teresa’s Hall, Connaught Road, Sidmouth , EX10 8TT from 7.30 – 9.30pm.

Each section, led by their section leaders, have a rotating schedule of rehearsals on the alternative Mondays, so that further focus can be given to each part.

Full rehearsals for this term are 18th June, 2nd July and 16th July.

Saturday 30th June - Singing with the community in Sidmouth celebrating Armed Forces Day.

Friday 6th July - Concert at All Saints Church, Sidmouth, 7.30pm. Raising money for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF).
